Economic Sociology Conference

Georgetown University and the University of Maryland will co-host the 5th Economic Sociology Conference on Friday, October 20, 2017 in Washington, DC.
The conference provides opportunities to discuss economic sociology research and to meet doctoral students entering the 2017-18 job market. This year’s conference will emphasize policy implications of economic sociology research, with a plenary panel session dedicated to this topic.
The conference will begin with dinner on Thursday, October 19th and conclude by 6pm on Friday, October 20th. Paper sessions for authors and poster sessions for job market candidates will be held at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business on Friday. Basic details below; more will be posted soon.

Registered conference guests are invited to dinner in the Walnut Ballroom of the Glover Park Hotel (2505 Wisconsin Ave NW) @ 6pm on Thursday, October 19th.
A limited block of rooms is available at the Glover Park Hotel, which is approximately 1 mile from Georgetown University's Main Campus. Attendees are expected to pay for their lodging. Georgetown University's Family Weekend is scheduled for October 20-22, so nearby hotel rooms will be in short supply and/or priced high. Attendees are encouraged to book early via this link.

All conference sessions will be held in the Rafik B. Hariri Building of the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. Breakfast will begin @ 8am and all conference sessions will end by 6pm. A full schedule will be available in August of 2017.

The conference is by invitation only. Invited attendees may submit a paper for a research paper session or nominate a job market candidate for a poster session.
